It is federal law that any insurance is required to cover you adopted child as if they are bio from time of placement. Sounds like you're dealing with some people who aren't familiar with the law. GOOD LUCK! Yeah....It is federal law, our insurance didn't take effect until our son was placed with us--however, we didn't have any medical bills from his birth. IF there are medical bills you can make a stink and have them backdated for your future child's birthday.
